Q:  WHAT IS PLASMASCULPT™?

A: 

PlasmaSculpt™ is a revolutionary minimally invasive procedure developed by Dr. Larry Fan that can reduce fat up to 50% and tighten skin up to 36% using cold plasma energy that instantly tightens the skin and sculpts the body. 

Q:  WHO IS A CANDIDATE?

A: 

PlasmaSculpt™ is best suited for those with excess fat and mild to moderate loose skin from age, weight loss, or pregnancy. A traditional tummy tuck or body contouring procedure is recommended for those with more advanced needs. Patients choose PlasmaSculpt™ because they want instant results without the downtime and large scars from traditional surgery. 

Q:  HOW IS PLASMASCULPT™ PERFORMED?

A: 

Performed most commonly in-office using local anesthesia, Dr. Fan starts the PlasmaSculpt™ procedure with tiny, hidden incisions strategically placed based on the areas to be treated. Fat is removed using a thin metal tube called a cannula. Dr. Fan will then use the J-Plasma device under the skin to deliver the cold plasma, which instantly tightens, shrinks, and rejuvenates the skin from the inside out. Results are immediate and will continue to improve as the body heals. 

Q:  HOW DOES PLASMASCULPT™                COMPARE TO LIPOSUCTION?

A: 

PlasmaSculpt™ is the only advanced body sculpting method that uses cold plasma energy to instantly tighten the skin while also removing fat. Traditional forms of liposuction do not tighten the skin whatsoever. 

Other technologies including BodyTite and Smartlipo may tighten the skin a little, but the effects of skin tightening using PlasmaSculpt™ far exceed those seen with any other treatment modality known. 

Q:  IS IT SAFE?

A: 

Yes. PlasmaSculpt™ is a safe, minimally invasive procedure. It is not associated with the scars and potential complications associated with large excisional procedures. However, all procedures have potential risks, and PlasmaSculpt™ is no exception. There is a small risk of complications including but not limited to bleeding, infection, contour irregularities, and lumps. Dr. Fan and his team will inform you of potential risks prior to treatment. 

Q:  WHAT IS THE RECOVERY LIKE?

A: 

Patients can expect initial tightness, swelling, and bruising in the treated area. Pain is usually minimal and can be lessened with pain relievers. Patients wear a compression garment for 2-3 weeks. Swelling and bruising can take 2 weeks to 2 months to resolve, however most patients are able to resume normal activities as early as 2 days post procedure.
